Why do libs have no long term memory?

What Did The Democrats Say About Iraq's WMD

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 | Source
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 | Source
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 | Source
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 | Source
"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998 | Source
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 | Source
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998 | Source
"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 | Source
"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 | Source
"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 | Source
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source
"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 | Source
"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 | Source
"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 | Source

That would mean that they would actually have to do the research which requires WORK and THINKING. Does that answer your question?

But now they say they were lied to.

Typical liberal double speak, deny, complain, and whine.

Let's elect hillary and let another clinton make a joke out of the whitehouse.

They didn't plan, manage or execute this war. They did not have access to the same intelligence. They did not see all the evidence that was conveniently discarded. They did not use 9/11 as a fence to shield any criticism of this operation.
They also didn't imply that IRAQ was behind 9/11.
They as most Americans thought these clowns had a clue about who their enemy was.
I was for going in only because I trusted they knew more than I. Turns out they knew less.
Sickening that they ascended to such high positions. I once had some respect for cheney.

It is a side effect to being a Liberal.

And despite all that, we had the better sense to not invade Iraq as the solution. That and only that is the issue.

Ummmm, they were wrong. They admit they were wrong.

Why can't you?

P.S. They dropped the ball big time. I believe only two congressmen read the CIA report on Saddam. It was far from conclusive. If they had read it, we wouldn't be in the mess we are.

It's not that they can't remember, it's just too inconvenient.

Um.....well. Let's see. Bush and others and everyone have admitted that it was BAD intelligents from a lot of sources. There is no more to say. Quit pointing fingers.

while they didn't have such a far-reaching and underhanded role in the iraq war as republicans, democrats are still politicians and thus have no souls or spines.

On the contrary, after your lengthy rant, Liberals do have long-term memory.

They remember what a crook tricky dick nixon was in a heart-beat.

.

what's your point now. Democrats tried to set a date to end the occupation of Iraq and Republicans blocked it. You have a problem with facts or is it a problem you have with short term memory. Do you think Canada sent troops to Viet-Nam like Ann Coulter remembers it?

yawn..youre just a pinhead con

You've missed the ball all together sport. It's not that they have no long term memory, it's they are hoping that we don't have any long term memory.

it requires too much effort on their part...now if it were in the form of a handout...it'd be right up their alley

They were fooled by Bush's false intelligence. And we have really good long term memories. I'm reading this liberal book about all these ancient civilizations and how they depleted their natural resources and spent all their money on wars and how that applies today...

But good quote gathering, with citations and everything!

because prehistoric man has the capacity for only one thought at a time
thus rendering it impossible for their soon to be extinct kind to
operate on a higher level of intelligence

Amazing post. Don't you just hate it when someone throws your own words back in your face. Especially just after you deny saying it.

This is about power and getting elected. That is all.

Ok; where do we go from here? What lessons do you say this presents for Iran and North Korea, where we "know" there is nuclear material?

What's even funnier?

Now, that those same dems have turned traitor to our troops' Congress sanctioned efforts, they promote the idiotic notion that we can just call it off, bring the troops home and forget about it - as though that were even remotely possible or, could ever make sense.

Funnier still?

They actually do believe that at this late point, the reason we went in still bears relevance and that our course of action should be based upon whether they believe the war was right or, wrong to begin with alone.

We are there and it is in both our and Iraq's best interest that we stay. That is really all that is relevant at this point, but they don't want to 'get it' or, they do, but don't want to admit it.

They've recoiled from their responsibility in having approved our going into Iraq, insisting it was a mistake. Then, in the same breath, they insist we make another even more obvious and bigger mistake in order to disgrace our President and without regard for the ramifications of that would-be mistake.

As to your question, I believe they have no memory because the vast majority of their brains are dominated by mere ego of which they, in all seriousness, need to let go of before even attempting to properly address the issue of Iraq.

Will they ever 'get it?' Most likely not.

Good thing we are here to keep them in check....

Okay, I remember very well how wrong all of those statements turned out to be.

So what's your point? Were they all wrong, but Bush somehow wasn't?

Did the wrong-headed liberals somehow trick Bush into invading Iraq?

There's a logical disconnect in your presentation that makes you seem a little childish.

It only matters IF it can be used to validate a 'current' point.

I did not want to go to Iraq. But by God, we're there now, and we cannot leave that country in a complete mess.

I do not agree with a 'public' withdrawal date, but I would be plenty fine with a whispered message to the Iraqi government that they better 'man-up' by XX-XX-XXXX, 'cause we're outta here . . .

I also like the option of a '3-state' solution. Seems like that would make peace easier to come by.

What Dems also forget are the pictures of those people marching en mass, under the threat of death, to vote.

However wrong the information was that took us into Iraq, the freedom delivered should be protected . . .

.

Lol exactly why people who have a certain political party preference are just little donut's who continue to tow the line of conformity no matter what their politicians tell them. Suckers. You eagerly play this game and you don't even actually know you are doing it. Liberals and conservatives need each other to feel important about themselves. It's a joke and I laugh at you both with equal measure everyday. You think it is your choice but you are actually stuck defending your party with no control over yourself as a human being, only to serve the interests of your politicians. I mean have any of you actually sat back and thought for one minute about how incredibly stupid you sound, arguing over some of the most absolutely pathetic crap I have ever seen and only because you are a Democrat or a Republican? Can you not think for yourself? I seriously doubt it. Oh and by the way before you start getting so smug with your stupid self, there were plenty of Republican politicians saying exactly the same things and they were all wrong. I say that also makes you all just as stupid for supporting them in this war Republicans and Democrats alike. Force fed crap by your favoured political institutions and I wouldn't even go as far as to say forced actually, as you lap up whatever they tell you as if they were spewing out strawberries and ice cream.
