How much will i be earning if i go to University?

Hi, im 16 and im about to start college in september, when i finish my 2 Year IT: Software development course i am hoping to be going on to University but my question is if i do go to university and get a degree in IT what kind of money will i be earning roughly?

The degree alone is not sufficient.

Most students are misled by the advertising and don't look at employers needs.

Once you have your degree it is important to discover exactly what you want do with your working life. Once you know you then have to find appropriate job experience or a specialised vocational training.

The easiest route is to do specific training for the job you want. Many of the leading UK employers offer graduates training for positions specific to their needs. The NHS is one such organisation.

It all depends. I know someone with a degree that is waitressing and earning about 10k a year. Another is probably earning 50k. It all depends on degree classification etc. My advice: don't do it for the money but do it for your personal development and what interests you. Worry about job after you finish your degree!
Good luck whatever you do.

University means nothing in terms of salries these days, unless you're doing Dentistry, Medicine/Vet Science or postgrad Engineering. Even then you spend 4 years getting into debt before you start earning.

If it's money you're after, learn a skilled manual trade and work for yourself.

I don't know about others but I have a university degree (from one of the best universities) and I am earning minimum wage. I have to resort to other means to support myself.

Graduate jobs start at 18k, in theory; in practice, as others have said, this is not always the case.

my mate has just finished his degree in computer science and he is earning about 拢15,000 working at pc world since nobody wants to employ anyone any more

also he is in about 拢40,000 of student debt

jack if you dont get a job.
