Inexperienced Supervisor?

I took a new job recently as a software developer. As I work for my supervisor, I learn more and more that he has a high level understanding, and not a detailed understanding of implementations in code. He tells me to treat everything as a "black box", but I have to implement the details, and I can't look at everything as a black box. He also underestimates the amount of work involved in software development. He had Access background, not a full language like .NET or Java.

How is it best to work with a supervisor who only has a high level understanding, but I am the one doing the work?

just add extra patience and understand him.. befriended him if you may.. it might cause your job if you complain too much about the way he supervise..

what's up doc?

how can he be a supervisor if he just know Access?
then how can he know if u typed the wrong code?
can he debug a program?

Did u take a job in a wrong place?
