Ipod touch/iphone software and effects on warranty?

If I made my own software with the sdk(software development kit [though you probobly already know that]) would it effect anything on the warranty if i used it for myself. i know that 3rd party apps do but if i made my own would that "break the rules". I'm gona wait for the next itouch(or maybe iphone) to come out but it would be nice to get a jump on making some software throught the summer. If theres any of those people that work for apple that answer questions like these it'd be nice to hear from ya. Oh and none of those answers for a free ipod ;)

Currently if you're not a paying developer, even having the 2.0 firmware is illegal.

Once firmware 2.0 comes out, then it has no effect if you make your own apps, provided you do not use the toolchain (the one that enables more features of the iPhone/iPod Touch than the SDK allows).

No, since its the official SDK and all applications are approved by apple before release it doesnt break your warranty. However if your using a torrented version of the 2.0 firmware for iPhone/touch and then load apps onto it your break digital signature
