What software do i use to do .net development in linux?

Microsoft Windows.

Try Mono.

It is inspired by the patented Borland technology (aquired my MS later) and the same Borland Architect (Anders Hejlsberg) that designed the Microsoft version of dotNET and Borland VCL.

You may need WINE to run some windows utilities on LINUX.
