A Build in Software is basically the compilation of the Code written to byte-code(the code that computers reconize).
And the build process is the Process of Building the Code into byte-code.

'Build' in Software applications refer to the building of an application from scratch instead of purchasing it 'off-the-shelve' as a 'Packaged' solution. Such 'custom-built' software applications are also known as 'bespoke' software.

Management of 'custom-built' software development is typically covered by a Software Development Lifecycle mtethodology, which looks into the planning, budgeting, monitoring, controlling (management thread) and analysis/requirement study, design, building/coding, testing, acceptance, implementation (execution thread), post-implementation support and maintenance, security, quality and other aspects like business process and organisational change.
