I have done bsc(chem) and a 2 yr software diploma from aptech. how do i make a break as a programmer in i.t.?

i have done bsc(chem) and a 2 yr software diploma from aptech. i am currently working as a technical specialist in mumbai. i want to have a career in development. but since i don't have any experience, jobs calls are very limited. i do practice at home.
any suggestions would be very valuable for me.

The computer field is open to any decipline simply because, all that requires is good logic. As you are a science graduate, I strongly feel you have logic in your mind. All you have to do is convert that logic to develop good programs. Convert your thinking towards computer languages. Download case studies and small domestic project specifications. Reffer your friends who are currently in software field. Get information about how they work in real time. ( Avoid practicing what ever you want but understand what you have to prepare and how to improve communication skills) what all i want to tell you is

You can do but you need to work hard....

learn some computer languages and try to find any apportunity to work on live project.
