What is the highly sought after IT area in the job market?

Hello,
I did my degree in BEng(Hon) Communications Engg, I have CCNA and MCP qualifications as well.
I am finding the job market a bit competitive. And at the moment I am considering moving into a Computer Science specialisation. And am considering doing a MSc in that field. But I am not very sure which specialisation would be the most sought after in the job market.

From the job hunting which I had been doing and the feedback I get, I personally consider Software Development or Software Engg being a shortage areas, given that I have excellent mathematical grades from college and a strong score in engineering mathematics from my degree.

But since I am at the doorstep of this industry I would appreciate suggestions from the gurus. :-)

NB: I also have concerns of software development role getting outsourced to India and China.

Top programmers will NOT get outsources. Simple jobs will (just like with any industry).

Since you have a good math background, why don't you specialize in Math and Computer Science. There is a huge demand for programmers that are really good in math.

DB management is NOT a job for a computer science grad. If you want to do that, goto a trade school.

Always work in data base management
