Is IT worth getting into?

I am wanting to get into IT and doing programming or software development, but am very unsure if it is worth it as i have seen lots of jobs being outsourced. It seems more and more businesses are moving development and programming to other countries. The future does not seem so good and i am wondering if i should choose to do something else ?

Many high-tech jobs are being out-sourced. Probably, the only locally sourced jobs are in service industries where person-to-person interactions are necessary.

Before making such decisions, think what and where your interests are. If you are good to great, you will always have a job.

Networking professionals are in demand.... This is one of those things you will have to get dirty and pull the wires, as well as knowing very well how the networking works.

Yes, IT is worth getting into, IF you are interested in it.

Move to India and get a tech job there.

Most of the outsourcing is being done for lower/entry level positions. The more certifications you acquire, the better your chances of finding and keeping a job. Also, look into networking. You can't outsource networking because every company needs a network guy to make sure the connections with those outsourced jobs don't get cut!
