Should I move back to Australia? |
I'm a single 30 year-old aussie who moved to the USA in 1997 to get into software development and strike it big in the dot com era. Now I've realized that I wasted 10 years of my life trying to get rich as a software developer, only to watch my current job be suddenly outsourced to India. I'll get paid much less as an IT guy in Australia, but I miss my friends and family there, as well as the laid-back lifestyle. Should I move back? I've been out of the country for a while now, and I'm afraid of the unknown. Does anyone else have a similar story? Yes, you should move back to Australia i read nothing but good reviews, from the friendly people, the agriculture, the climate, and e.t.c if your going to be making more money back home , and be closer to your family that a big bonus..=)))) it most be lonely here without your family and friends...you have no g/f holding you back.. so pack your bags and go back home =) good luck.. No story. I think that if you think that you will have better luck in Australia then move back. By what you posted you seem home stick. I am very sorry that things did not go the way you planned well life is short and ppl shouldn't live in the same place forever, so if u see u r being miserable where u are now.. why not to come back 2 ur place of birth , i moved to USA from PR and im living here just for a while.. then im coming back or move somewhere else. Money is not everything... friends and family yes! things may be different there but u get use to it I don't have a similar story, but I believe you should follow your heart. Money doesn't mean much if you are alone. If you miss your friends and family, I would move back. Sounds like you have a good career, so I am sure you will still make good money. Good luck! i don't have a similar story but i know someone who does and ill tel you the same thing that i told them. i said for him to think of what he likes best about where he is now and to think of all the people who care about him. then i told him to think of the place he wanted to live and to think about the people who care about him there and which one sounded better to him. no one can tell you weather or not you should go back because face it will you really listen to them? only you can chose i can just make suggestions and try to help. if you are afraid of the unknown live with someone you know in Australia and get to know it again. how did you handle coming to America? that was new an unknown wasn't it? if you want to go back that badly then you should. but you have to ask yourself is it what i really want? not what others want but you this entire decision is yours. If you have a lower cost of liviing in Australia, Maybe you could go back since you seem to miss it so much. |
