Is there no scope for lecturers to join Indian IT company even they have technical knowledge?

Hi,
I am working as a lecturer in engineering college. I did MCA. I have very much technical knowledge of Software development but not having so called Industrial experience. The thing which frustrate me that IT companies are not consider me for Software Developer and I am not getting any interview call .
What U people think ?

it's one thing to lecture, it's another to have hands on..
if you had worked on projects or grants where you put your hands on and say "yes, I've worked on Java application and design and programmed it, blah blah" you may have a chance..

other thing is that maybe your cover letter and resume are not showing the good qualityof your skills... it may be too "text book standard" style...

you may not be consider software development but maybe an analyst..

They can join. Anybody having some idea of software can join the IT industry and develop his capability later. But if you want the IT industry to be Infosys, TCS, Wipro etc then probably you may not get the chance or have to wait for some time.
