Could we use my garage as the registered office? |
I plan to run a software development company with my friends in Melbourne. I have my own house, so I want to know, could I use my garage as the registered office(have to provide this information in "application for registration as an australian company" form)? I think you probably could use your home address (garage) however you may want to seek a register agent in the area you are incorporating if it is not in your home state or region. If you are registering your companyu in the US different states have different requirements for keeping your address or registered agents address current with the states. However if you are in Australia and registering with the officials in your country then my answer probably is not accurate. Also consider using an incorporation service such as Legalzoom which I have used on several occasions. They will serve as your registered agent if in the US for a fee. Hopefully this is helpful. JL Hi I guess each local council have their own laws in place, but in qld i think all you have to do is register the business and state that it is a home based business that you will be operating from the spare room etc. you probably have certain standards to abide by etc eg. space, lighting, air-conditioning etc |
