DeVry Online Game and Simulation Programming?

Looking for experiences from people who are currently enrolled in the program or have graduated from the program.

I am also considering Westwood's Online Game Software Development Program.

I was looking at gaming as a major as well.......It's a hard business to get into. There are a lot of Programmers out there who have a different background then actually programming. Programming is programming and a couple programming courses and a certification you know your stuff can go a long way. Also, you build your way up in a position and gain experience that way as well. I'm also interested in game design so I'm major in Multimedia. So far there aren't game jobs in Michigan so my job offers are currently programming and web programming jobs and light networking. Any skill you learn in college can be learned outside of college. I learned .Net programming with being a multimedia major. But, once you learn one programming it's very easy to learn another. The advantages I have over other programmers is graphical user interface design, animation as well as being able to create video/audio projects. Well hope that helps just my path may not be the best for you but you never know now a days with picking majors. I knew with mine I could use it for many different fields if I'm never hired in the gaming field. I also make my own videos games as well as a hobby.

seems like (with my experiences) trade schools are more money for about the same time invested. I went to a trade school and dropped out (boo:( ). I now have a huge debt in student loans they took out to pay tuitition.

I am now going to community college for a similar program and only have to pay for books, and most of that is covered through grants.

so check out the courses and compare the prices at your local college.
