Did I replied correctly to my perspective employer's question through email about interview date/time? |
My perspective employer sent me an email about 4 days ago. The only text was, "Can you come for an interview by tomorrow morning?" I see nothing wrong with what you said. Maybe he just got busy or something and has not had the time to read the email. It wasn't rude, but it probably wasn't what he wanted to hear. He probably has a number of candidates and figured if you didn't want to do it on his timeline, he would find someone else who would. He was rude. He should have called to ask for the interview if it was going to be such short notice. Look elsewhere. I don't think you were rude, but by giving him a time you could have limited yourself a little too much for the guy. Perhaps giving him a window of availibility instead of a set time would have been better. prospective You'll be allright. Dear Mr. XXX YYYY. Thank you for your email which I recieved today. I am very sorry, but I am unable to attend tomorrow morning as I have a prior engagement but I would be very grateful if you would consider rescheduling our meeting. My next available free time would be the morning of XXXXXX. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. No, you are getting your first taste of Corporate hurry up and wait. He got your e-mail during the middle of a fire drill ( a term you will come to know intimately) and he has put you on the back burner. When you apply for a job at MacDonald's, they tell you immediately if your hired or not. If it's a pro job, you can wait weeks for a reply. If he hasn't replied in a couple of days, send him another e-mail saying: You can't cry over spilled milk, my answer to you would be ,to be perfectly honest, I think it was answered incorrectly....Think about it....Put yourself in the employer's shoes.....you're interested in hiring a particular person, you give them an opportunity and that person is now suddenly telling you what to do ( when to have the interview, what time the interview should be) You should consider yourself very lucky if you get a response from this perspective employer. It seems like a dynamite job...If it does not materialize, consider it a lesson learned..... |

Not necessarily. But it depends on your opinion really. If you're not familiar with the source code, it could take a while to break it down so you do. Or would it be faster to just start over?...
