Work Experience in Computers?

Hi, I am doing work experience next year, and I need to start thinking about my placement.

I want to work in computers, as in software development, but, I don't know how to get experience with a computer company, how do I find them? Any near Leicester would be great, is there a database somewhere for work experience?

If you want programming experience, sign up at RentACoder.com. There is a ton of projects you can do there from your home. If you can't compete, then pick a program and start cracking on it strictly for learning purposes until you can start making some money.

Until you land a job at a company (you may be able to make your living on that website), try for something else, even if it's not programming. Just try to get some computer experience in some way. If there is a Best Buy around where you live, you can work in their PCHO department answering customers questions about purchasing a computer or other items. At some point of time, you may be able to go into their Geek Squad. All of that is hardware, but it's better than nothing until you get into what you want.

Hello, For getting work exp. you should have indepth knowledge in any programming language. And If you have so then you should work on some dummy projects. After doing all this you will get lot of experience.
And i think then you will be able to get a good job as a software developer.
