I recently learned that a classmate of mine who just started with my company is getting about $15,000 more than what I am making doing software development. While he has been shopping and changing jobs since we graduated, I stayed with my present company and is not pleased to learn that an outsider is being paid more. It really depends on the relationship that you have with your manager, but by no means allow your jealousy show, as it could be the end of you.
