No... viruses are specifically programmed to do something.

The original term virus was coined because those writing the programs actually *attached* their programs to other legitimate programs. With the complexity of operating systems and programs, that is simply not done anymore. Typically, the writers simply trick you into running their programs via web-site links and/or e-mail attachments.

Thus, your question is really a bit odd... a code change *can* have a virus if the programmer specifically put it there. It does not just show up out of no where. Also, viruses could never be introduced by specifications and methodologies alone.
