Why is my brother still trying to manipulate me ??, What should I do?

Why is my brother still trying to control/manipulate me?
I moved 1,800 miles away from new york to texas due to their dysfunctional and abusive ways. But it doesn't seem to have send them the message. My brother is trying to find me a job in a field which has nothing to do with my degree. He keeps sending me these e-mails saying , apply here, apply here and scaring me saying , no one will hire you , so the only choice is to apply to these consulting agencies he tells me.

He tried to do that to me once I was in NY, and I thought it was over. But he even called my uncle yesterday( whom i am staying with in texas), and started lecturing my uncle about consulting agencies ,.My uncle got pretty mad and my bro hanged up the phone ( cuz he doesn't have a guilty conscience and doesn't admit to faults)

He wants me to apply for a software job , When I graduated with a B.S in electrical engineering.

Why is he doing this ? How can I escape from his emotional control/blackmail ? ...

Well, not knowing him or anything about him, I don't know WHY.

But ignore him.

There's no reason to LET him succeeed in controling YOUR life.

Delete the emails.

Either don't answer the phone (get caller ID if necessary), or just let him run on, then get off the phone. "I've got to go now."

Remind yourself as necessary: MY life; not his.

staffing firms are a good source of at least contract employment. Once you have a job you can throw it in his face as much as you want and I agree with you about finding the job which matches your education. Look for job fairs in your local area, my company is having one in May, Amarillo.

get a marriage partner.

Maybe he's acting like your guardian or has assumed the role of your father even. You need to tell him how you feel about this. Try to make him understand that this only helps push you away from each other and you need some space.
Tell him to have confidence in your decisions.
Remember he loves you. He probably just has a weird way of showing his concerns for you.

How is he manipulating you when he is trying to help you find a job.?? He is waisting his time and energy to find you jobs and you are saying that he is manipulating you. I have to disagree with you here buddy, no offense. You are wrong.

You are taking his love in the wrong way. My brother, my friends all used to send me job openings when i graduated. When I could'nt get a job in mechanical engineering field , my brother is the one who guided me and helped me find a job in software field. I dont think he wanted to control my emotions at that time. My brother wanted me to be happy and do well. I am glad that I had someone like him.

I am sure your brother is doing the same thing that any brother would do. I have never heard any one complaining for the help they receive.

From your previous post it doesnt seem like you were able to find a job at all. This show that he is concerned about you and loves you. He wants you to do well.

You ask yourself something big boy, how is he manipulating , controlling or blackmailing you when he is trying to find a job which you are not able to find at all?

You should be glad your brother is doing this for you buddy.
