I am attempting to uninstall my ipod from my laptop and then reinstall it. During the uninstall process an error occured and the program does not fully uninstall. I've tried to uninstall it again but get the same error each time. I also tried to just install the software anyway but the install cd first tries to perform the uninstall which of course fails, and then the whole process aborts. The program lists it as having under 1MB in size so i believe the majority of it is gone, but i can now neither install or uninstall the program.
The error reads:
Error: -1639 Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help.
Any advice on how to remove the rest of the program would be appreciated?
fyi...The computer is running windows xp home. The uninstall is done with the standard installshield accessed through the control panel > add/remove programs. try system restore
start>prog>accesories>system tools>system restore...may work
or
go to search file/computers
delete anything that has to do with ipod
or
reformat computer back to factory settings with reboot disc
(get rid of all information) if your really desperate |
