What should I do to report my teacher?

My woodwork teacher really really is a complete dumbass. Before him we had a great teacher, but the teacher moved and now we are stuck with him. He doesn't know much about teaching the subject for a whole year we spent ALL of our theory classes reading a chapter about wood defects, which we already knew inside-out from our other teacher. He can't control the class (which was fun at first but now is pathetic), I won't even let him near any of my projects for fear he might damage them. ALL the tools in the woodwork room are blunt and useless, the sandpaper on the sander is now soft, but he still hasn't changed it. He really really is AWFUL at teaching. It isn't that he doessn't like me or I have a grudge against him, he likes me but he hasn't taught us anything the whole year and we are going to suffer when it comes to our exams because of him. What can I do?

Oh and I can't talk to him because obviously he would then have a grudge against me.

Ok, I麓m a teacher and a director in a high school (not in the US). Under these circumstances where I work, the student would report the bad teacher to me. I would then talk to the department director about the teacher and ask that the teacher not be assigned to my students again and also suggest that the department director work with the teacher more to see if his teaching abilities could be improved.

In your situation (I assume you are in the US), you could talk to your principal about the teacher, but there will be consquences. That teacher might not get offered a teaching job the next year/semester, and he might find out it was your fault. Or even worse, he might keep his job and find out you were complaining about him.

There will be consequences. If you do nothing, you have an idea what the consequences will be. If you do something, I just told you what the consequences could be.

There is never a completely easy way to deal with a difficult situation.

I would definitely go to someone on the school board or your principle. Make sure to let them know that you are just concerned for everyone in the class and that you don't want him to know that you were the one that went to the upper hand for some help. Just talk to some authority figure above him.

Tell one of the administrators or your prinicipal.
