Save the planet?!?!?! |
I'm in a program at school where the students get to create ideas and projects and basically follow their dreams with the tools needed to do it. It's called EAST. (environmental and spacial technologies). This start of the school year will be my senior year and my second year of EAST. I'd really like to do something about saving the planet or recycling or making things eco-friendly. I dont know. I would just like some creative ideas. The sky is the limit in this classroom. PLEASE give me some really creative different ideas to work with. I'm the new administrator for the classroom so I'd like to present a really different idea to the new students to work with. hmm, must be a public school.... I have read an article about recycling which help a certain school a lot in conserving. It has something to do with scratch or scap papers. There's this group of students a club probably just like your EAST which collect scrap papers from students so these students instead of throwing they are giving it to this group. Now, this group is recycling this paper and doing a certain process to make another paper out of the scrap papers they have collected and they again distribute these newly papers made to the students so that they can conserve their money. I think it is a school somewhere in the Philippines if I'm not mistaken. Here are a few ideas and some resources that might be able to provide inspiration and help: Well, I love your EAST program! I am an environmental health program. But something I had worked on was more of a realistic solution that could keep accommodations for people. I didn't finish it, but it was a 5 point plan on reducing a cities energy usage. Maybe something like that. My main point was syncing the traffic lights that way less gas is used from breaking and speeding up. But like you said, skys the limit. At my school we started a fund raiser and got sponsors so that we could make a solar panel. It actually worked. That whole school year was about being eco-friendly and i really think we accomplished that goal by using another source of energy, recycling, and planting things around the school campus. How about something crafty oriented like making re-usable bags or creative re-uses of every day items like art or jewelry? if scientists figure a different source of energy in a different planet.or wait for a supernova to create an we element.some kind of machine fusion atom.or something that wont pollute the atmosphere powerful lasts long.or just go look up my ***.lol!jk If you mean in your school, try to get the school to stop using plastic bags in the classroom waste bins. It saves a lot of plastic. Electric and Solar Power. Thermal energy is almost in-exhaustible. It will last as long the planet. Design a house that is both cheaper to build and easier to heat and cool; then build it for Habitat for Humanity. Advance the concept of single-seat commuter vehicles that are safer than SUVs and cheaper than a Prius by building a concept car. Raise funds to help lower income families switch over to compact flourescents. (Your electric utility may provide matching funds) |
