Most states, provinces and large cities have Ghost and Haunting Societies. These organizations run paranormal investigations for research purposes.

Usually its free to join and they will teach you some basics and let you participate. Sometimes you will be required to pass a test first before participating. And in all cases you will be expected to act according to their professional code of ethics.

If you tell me what city you live in, I might be able to recommend a group in your area.

i would liek to do this as well, unfortunately there isnt really anywhere i dont think thats not private property or turned into a swarming tourist attraction. i dont know how they get teh permission to do those shows alone without an escort, like draculas castle or lizzie bordens house. people just use it as an outlet to make money off of it. but i know what you mean, where you can go with your friends alone and have fun and investigate whereever you want.

Be very careful what you ask for,I remember a story about a woman that was an investigator,her son ask her to stop but she would,until one day she when to an old barn to investigated some strange things,she seen something but wasn't sure,anyway to make a long story short she left when home and the thing follow her,

you don't say where you live. I can't answer something I don't know.

Do a search on paranormal groups and do a search on paranormal equiptment. Sure your friends can do it. Just read up on it and take it seriously, it is a science, not a voodoo session.

The big question is: what area are you looking in? Do you live in a US state or a Canadian province? Under the sea? It's difficult to advise on a question like this without knowing more about a location.
