Project Runway fans, did you see the outfit for Olympic OC?

I could have swore they said the winning design was going to be worn by the USA team. What they had on wasn't even close. Did I miss something there?

And why give it to the design that was red, white, and black? I'm not getting that either. I think the Olympic committee said nevermind when they saw what had won.

They never said it would be worn at the Olympics because I went back on my TiVo and watched it over. As for the winning garment, that's what I was wondering! But the judges actually said it was blue when they were talking about it so maybe it looked different on tv.

No, they did not say the winning outfit would be worn at the Olympics -- though it would have been interesting! They only chose the Olympic theme because of fortunate timing. Besides, they would have had to design for men, too, for a change!

Tim Gunn said this was the designers' chance to show how they would represent the USA if given the chance. Ralph Lauren has designed the outfits for the 2008 opening ceremonies.

no i don't think they ever said it would be worn they just said if you had a chance we would like to see what you would make for it

I don't think they said the team would wear the design, they were just asked to design an outfit.

I think the skort set should have won. It was sporty and classy.
