This is for a school project. Please don't give me a bunch of answers about how horrible i am.?

I have a project in health class about Miscarriages. I already know that smoking, drinking, and drugs will increase the risk. But I have also heard of people doing more unconventional methods when trying to terminate the baby on their own. Is it true that people drink Robitussin, Castor Oil, and other things thinking it will cause a miscarriage? If not then what are some things that people do to cause a miscarriage? I have also read on some websites that people use herbs to cause termination. Does anybody know what those herbs are? And do these methods ACTUALLY work.

Once again, this is a health class project. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Drinking castor oil will make you puke or have the sploots but doesn't do anything to prompt your uterus to purge the fetus. People get their stomach and their uterus confused; the human body is amazingly strong......if it weren't, why would so many starving women in Africa be able to continue giving birth to live babies even when they themselves didn't have enough food?

I've never ever ever heard of anything legitamate that isn't a prescription that induces early labor also known as a miscarriage. Punching yourself in the stomach, drinking a bunch of water....nothing like that works. If it did, women wouldn't undergo such a scary surgery as having an abortion.

Also, smoking/drinking/drugs increase the risk of miscarriage mostly just IF the mother was doing them prior to and at the same time as conception. Once you're pregnant, the body has a fierce ability to guard the life of the fetus, even to the detriment of the mother. That's why weak women are told to NOT try to become pregnant; they will likely die during the birthing process because the body will divert all energy from the mother to the baby.

If this isn't a health class project, I would suggest that the pregant person call and find out just how affordable an abortion is. Or call and find out if she is still able to just take the abortion pill. Or call an abortion alternative hotline and look into selling the baby to a wealthy couple who cannot have children. Don't hurt your own body just to keep from having a kid.
