How would you plan a research project using experimental and control groups?

I have this Sociology homework and my professor gave us this question to answer. Can someone please explain to me what I need to do here? and perhaps give me an answer.

I think he's asking for you to plan (any) kind of research (whatever topic you guys are covering) in which you have 2 groups (ex. 2 groups of people). One group (the experimental), you do something to or change something . The other, the control, is left "untouched". Then you can compare the results/outcome and see how your change affected the group and compare this to the control group. Make sure you only "change" one thing, and then if your experimental group ends up "different" from the control group, you pretty much know it is because of the change you introduced.

what is your research about?
An experimental grp are the ones being experimented while the control group are the ones that are not just in case something messed up so you knw what caused it.
