What programming software should I use best in interfacing?

I'm planning on doing a project using computer interfacing. I'll be using parallel port because it is easier to use than serial port (right?). I need a software to do my project that is easy to use and very user-friendly especially for beginners.

If you are doing interface programming your really are best working in C although this might not meet your requirement for
"very user-friendly". Depending on exactly what you are trying to do you may be able to get away with VB.NET or C# using the .NET 2.0 Framework or greater since they do have classes for accessing serial and parallel ports.
