Should I mist my tile floor that we just grouted? |
In the past I've used a grout that we had to hand mix. It said to mist the floor for a few days. This tile project is smaller and we just used premixed grout from Home Depot. It seemed a little wetter than what we used before and does not give instructions to mist the floor at all. I do plan on sealing the grout. Do you think I should mist it as well, even though it doesn't say to? Not sure if it matters, but this is a half bath (no tub or shower). Misting not necessary. Especially if the carton did not say anything about it. These premixed grouts usually have admixtures in them to make them idiotproof. Home Depot screens the products as much as they can to make them work well with the average homeowner using them. It has nothing to do with the curing time..grout will cure setting under water as will concrete it is a chemical reaction lime etcetera in mortar bases that make them cure..If it did not say to mist I wouldn't worry about it.. it wont hurt misting makes the curing time longer the longer the cure the stronger the grout will be Not necessary, but wouldn't hurt it. Dad would have ,no matter if it said to or not. Byee |
