McCain or Obama: Which Candidate is Best for Our Children?

I've been working on a little research project at http://therogueparent.com/blog/ to determine which candidate is best for our children. I'm more conservative in nature and don't want to make this biased. So, which candidate do you think is best for our children, based on the following criteria:
- taxes
- health care
- inheritance
- education
- the environment
- life skills
- the economy
- security
- financial planning
- government reform

McCain; a more even tax code that makes the US more attractive to biz would create jobs here for our kids; the market will allow better quality health care...I'm not saying the health care system is great but it would get worse if the gov ran it; why would you tax someones inheritance...a dollar is already taxed like 3 times, death tax is just mean; neither candidate is great on the environment so this is a wash; life skills--the rep. believe in standing on your own feet and supporting yourself...what better life skill than self reliance; neither is good on the economy so another wash; gov reform--McCain is known to stand up to his party where the other one just caves to his...McCain would at least have the courage to attempt gov reform...Obama would just make a speech about it and then do nothing.

To whomever the knucklehead who stated that McCain hides his own daughter: Obama hides his own mother/what kind of son is he. Better for children: Obama is pro-abortion and stated that "if my daughter got pregnant at a young age, I would not want her to be punished with a child." If a child is a punishment to him, how can one think he would be better for our children. Then he injects his young children into the campaign, and later regrets it. Politicizing your own children, what a shame. Don't get me started on his socialist health care plan.

-taxes, obama if you want to pay more, McCain if you want to pay less
-health care, obama if you want universal health care, at a high cost to tax payers, McCain if you want to pay it yourself without having to shell out thousands in tax dollars
-inheritance, McCain...general Republican ideology, keep your earnings and pass it along to your generations. Democrats...lets take everything! They don't need it when they are dead!
-education, McCain would get things done albeit while pissing off teachers, Obama would just give loud speeches and throw money at the problem while gambling it will go away
-environment, Obama would create crazy programs to take away individual rights and raise taxes on things like gas to reduce consumption (wait, didn't he say he was going to lower gas prices?) McCain would try to pass bills that will eventually be shot down by the Dem congress
-life skills? McCain has been in the crap of life. Obama just has a absent natural father and a life of traveling abroad
-economy, McCain will try to fix the mortgage problem started by Clinton. Obama, more empty promises and more taxes while taking away your rights
-security, McCain don't bend down for no one...Obama you dont like something about the US? let me fix it for you! Your concerns are more important than the concerns of Americans!

Well, that depends whether you want your children to learn self-reliance or to expect the government to give things to them that they haven't earned. I have an 8 year daughter and another on the way and I want my girls to know what it is to work hard, succeed and hold on to what you have earned. Socialism is not American.

Oh, and 113kibby, seems lately all obama is talking about is WAR, WAR, WAR. Afghanistan sound familiar? Or have you been to busy eating your socialist soup to notice? Oh I know, Afghanistan is the righteous war. Why? Because the prophet has said so, so it must be true.

Obama doesn't support school choice. Why should he? He sends his own daughters to a 20k a year private school. It seems a bit hypocritical that those without the ability to pay for private schools are stuck in public education with no recourse.

On the economy, his stance is laughable at best, destruction at worst.

McCain doesn't care about children. He hides his own dark-skinned daughter for fear his racist supporters will not vote for him. What type of man let along father is he?

If he doesn't care about his own daughter, why would he care about America's children?

I'd say McCain because other than the war, he's against universal healthcare, (Which BTW is the worst healthcare in the world) He's for all the good stuff. MCCAIN '08 AND '12!!!

Obama, hands down. If the Republicans are given free rein any longer, there won't be anything left for our children.

Based on these criteria alone, Obama.

McCain wants you to have children so he can draft them into the Army and create 100 years of was in Iraq.

Taxes- Obama will cut taxes for the middle class while only slightly increasing taxes on the richest 2% ($250k per year) of all Americans.
Health Care- Obama will make sure EVERY American has access to affordable, quality health care.
Inheritance- He will make sure that the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. The last thing America needs is more Paris Hilton's running around with Mommy and Daddy's money and a feeling of self entitlement.
Education- Barack Obama will help repair our broken education system and will offer money for college to American students who complete a few years of service to our country.
Environment- Barack Obama will do everything he can to protect our environment and move America away from our dependence on foreign oil and dirty fossile fuels and towards energy independence by utilizing clean, renewable energy resources.
Life Skills- Barack Obama will ensure that America invests in AMERICANS and will use money for job training.
The Economy- Barack Obama will work to fix our broken economy and bring jobs back to America.
Security- Obama will provide security for all Americans without sacrificing our civil liberties.
Financial Planning- Obama will reinstate PAYGO to ensure our nearly $500 trillion dollar deficit left by the Bush Administration doesn't grow any larger.
Government Reform- Barack Obama will work to reform our government and put the power back in the hands of the People by taking the money from lobbyists, special interest groups and PACs out of our political system.

When you consider all those things, it's really a no-brainer,
