Last year of college, what should i do? |
ok so i major in economics, my first two years i go most of my college units, i ended with 93 units, now i have 27, three units which must be an internship or senior project, that narrows down to 24 units, i feel 24 units in a whole year is pretty low considering i had 50 last year, some classes i am planning to take are kinesiology, aside from my 6 econ classes that i have left, my gpa is 3.032, should i take chinese and japanese classes, well japanese its an advance class, i been taking it for 5 years it comes easy, and i wanted to learn chinese i heard the class is fun and easy, should i take chinese and japanese, or should i just take the min requirement to graduate, the pros of takeing more is that i learn more, but it might drop my gpa, assuming i take the current load and i get all A's which its no heavy i can get a gpa of 3.3, or if i add the language classes i can get a gpa of 3.48, but thats the maximum, also if i get the maximum units, even though classes are easy and i really enjoy them, i might not get all As, what should i do, i really want to take lang classes but i dont want my gpa to drop For economics, I think some extra time for Chinese Mandarin would be an excellent addition. There will be a need for Chinese-speakers in many areas. You might want to continue after your graduation, as one year even in accelerated format won't get you very far. Your GPA should be fine if you raise a bit--I'm assuming you are going to graduate school? Usually third year and beyond language classes count toward a masters degree. take 30 credits total all year. 15 each semester. I would take the elective language class and use all that excess time to work on my application to grad school in the fall, then if I had it too easy, and there wasn't enough to keep me busy, take 18 the last semester. |
