Why would god need a plan?

I have a plan because I am not very good at working on multiple complex projects all at once. However, I am not infinitely intelligent nor am I infinitely powerful. I can't do infinite things at once; hence I need a plan.

However, according to christians, god is infinitely smart and infinitely powerful, and infinitely everything. If this is the case, why isn't a plan needed? Wouldn't infinite spontaneity be more suitable and efficient?

Why does god need to kill of a certain amount of innocent children? Does he have a notepad and when each one dies, he puts a check through the name, and get a grin on his face?

why IS a plan needed

Dear Mister Skeptical Cynic, to put it simply, God does NOT need a plan, but since we are human, He put one in place for our convenience and for a set of guidelines for us to refer to. God did not kill anyone. That seems to be a quite common misunderstanding for those who either have no faith in God or a very blind faith in Him. While both Atheists and Christians claim faith is simply belief in something for which there is no proof, both groups have missed the point of faith completely or at least nearly so. I would rather, I think, have no faith than to have blind faith only. By the way, I could probably give you lessons on being both a cynic and a skeptic. If you want a breath of fresh air when it comes to religion, I have included a few links below.

Some people claim faith is blind, but my faith is a carefully considered, carefully reasoned and very reasonable, rational and defensible faith. Were atheist Stephen Roberts (1901-1971) standing in front of me this moment, I would say to him, 鈥淚 contend that we are both believers. I just believe in one more thing than you do, and for very good reason. When you fully understand why I also dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I believe in mine, and you will believe also."

FAITH, is it self hypnosis?

Are you certain there is a God?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

The key question is are there any contradictions between God's postulated properties and him having a plan? Unless you can answer that question then you don't have an argument, just a question.

I'm quite sure God, according to most Christians, isn't infinitely everything.

"If this is the case, why isn't a plan needed?"
You mean why is a plan needed?

"Wouldn't infinite spontaneity be more suitable and effecient?"
Effecient on the basis of what? Why should we think it would be more suitable and effecient?

"Why does God need to kill a certain amount of innocent children?"
What innocent children? Innocent relative to whom?

"Does he have a notepad and when each one dies, he puts a check through the name, and get a grin on his face?"
Well now we know his plan don't we.

God only planned out what would happen to the world. And do you think God is killing those innocent children? Then if he did then why would he have created them in the first place? God is not killing of children. And yes as you said we humans need plans because were not like God, were not as smart or as powerful as him. But the plan you're thinking is probably (because of how you described it) a like say blueprint? God already knows what will happen to the world and also we don't know if he really had a plan or not. The first sentence would be a logical guess. And God doesnt need a notepad to know if someone died. Otherwise hed spend his whole day checking through and writing in names.

Technically it wouldn't be a true plan. It would be already be set in the course of action with no adjustments or changes. It would be unalterable and definite. So a plan wouldn't be needed because the entirity of outcomes would be already known.

This is of course why the Abrahamic god is an impossibility.

If there is intent to reach a goal and then action is taken to achieve that goal that is a plan. God made the earth in a certain way, that was a plan. God had an intent for Mankind, that was a plan but we screwed it up so God had to go to Plan B and we are still waiting to see how that works out.

God has a plan for everyone, yu kno the saying "things always happen for a reason" well God does that, he makes things happen for a reason whether its good or bad. if its something bad like an innocent child dying theres always something good following it, like they go straight up to heaven or something like that.

First, you falsely accuse God of killing! Look at the people around you and see where the real murders are!

Secondly, you answered your own question. You wrote: "However, I am not infinitely intelligent nor am I infinitely powerful. I can't do infinite things at once; hence I need a plan."

God needs a plan for us because we are limited and need guidance and direction!

Man wants a plan - not a god. Man wants to be told what to do instead of paying attention to themselves and their feelings for what will benefit them.

Everyone is equipped with that inner guidance but to follow it, we have to understand that it's always available to us and we have to learn to listen to it. People want the seemingly easy way and just do what they are told. This really doesn't make Life any easier all this blind following; I think it makes life more painful and keeps us from knowing our own wisdom.

We can plan for events, vacations and such, but to think that god has some kind of plan for our lives negates creation. We are to create endlessly and to have a plan would put an end to creation.

I would like to add to the answer above about god making things happen. I don't believe that is true. I think we make it all happen - everything. We are eternal creators - we are God Be-ing and we have the freedom to create all things.

God is a God or order, their is no confusion or coincident in what he does. God also allows in His wisdom what he could easily do in His Power ,..........HIS WISDOM that neither you or I can understand.
And it is appointed to all men that they should die once. Everyone regardless of age, race, religion or status will die once and only God knows why he has it the way it is ........Their spiritual laws and orders that govern and influence this world ........

god does help though.. and he doesnt grin the devil does the devil takes em away. God is my hero. you ever hear those storys of people out of windows 15 stories and living... Thats god.

He doesn't NEED a plan...he's just pretty much telling us what's gonna happen. He can kill us all whenever he wants...

God has a...plan...for all of our lives. You just don't know it. Yes, even your small insignificant life has a purpose! :D

Because he is the direct personification of the people who think him to be true. So they give him the same attributes they assume they would need in that matter.

Christianity was made 2000 years ago. At that time if you were to say something like this you would be convicted of witch crafting.

I guess he made it up as he went along. I think he should of used a plan. He would of understood things better. Especially that whole Adam and Eve and the garden fiasco.

Merely for our benefit -- because of the finite human brain and our inability to comprehend divinity.

like you he has the plan for everyone & everything in this world! trust me god has the best plan for you!

This I do know, as silly and innane as your question is if you were not interested you wouldn't be asking, think about it.

God has a plan for everybody. Just talk to him tonight.

Indeed, how can one even exist if he knows what is going to happen?

idk what you're talking about, but it's the Devil that kills. not God.

deat is not necesarly bad, is just like going to another country, it can be a bit of pain.

I agree

The plan is for us, not Him.

The plan is for us.
God created His Will for our purposes.

And no...that's a twisted view of God and this whole planning thing.

His created a perfect world gave man power to run it and the devil deceived man and everything is in a downhill state towards chaos !!! He made promises that He intends to keep !!!

The motive of these unending questions are not born out of a quest for the truth or any recognizable virtue, but of division and strife. The Bible was written in a vague cryptic style as not to be understood by those that oppose it but of those who advocate it. For the skeptic gleans from the text what may be invented against itself and the Bibles design provides ample fodder for them to choke on. The thruth of the Bible isnt to be found in "one liner scriptures" but of a greater context which can only be recieved through study and the power of God. The truth of the Bible is found in the conveyance of Gods message to His children and not from a literalists quest for error. For the Gospel of Jesus Christ is foolishness to those that are perishing.

1 Corinthians 1
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
