I was wondering if you had to have a blank DVD in the drive if you plan to create a project on roxio mydvd?

I just got a new laptop and was trying to use roxio to create a DVD project. I called support and the man told me i needed to have a blank dvd in the drive, then i asked did you have to have one in just to start a project. Then he changed his story and said i need some sort of media plugged into my laptop, i tried that and it didnt work. so now im on yahoo answers, if anyone nows how to work myDVD please respond, thank you.

You have to have a DVD R/W (read and write) drive on your laptop to make a project with Roxio. You don't need a blank DVD in the drive until you are ready to burn the project.

Are you 100% positive you can write DVDs? Some drives play DVDs but only write CDs.
