Help with a project? its about gandhi but general pointers on what makes a good project will also be accepted! |
i have to write a project (about 4000 words) on gandhis role in the independance movement of india, does anybody have any good resource pages?? also, the project topic is really vague. its' write an illustrative project on the role of mahatma gandhi in indias independence movement. make a graphic study.' i was planning to do an intro, a little bit on his life(bio), but then what should i do? like what headinds/ subheadings? any ideas? pointers on what makes a good project? any good ideas to make my project unique? i really need the grade. After the bio u have to give his struggles in becoming a lawyer. You have to mention the incident in South Africa- abt being thrown out of the railway compartment...then how he came to India.. What were the reasons he was so loved by common people ( simple austere life etc...) then you have to elaborate on all the movements he launched.. Non Co-operation, Quit India, Civil Disobedience-- most importantly his unwavering faith in ahimsa( non voilence) then u can tell abt the Dandi March, bonfires,picketing of shops , The Conference he went to. How Britishers promised freedom but did not keep their word- mass involvement , times he went to prison, fasted so that people would stop voilence , went to meetings in a simple Dhoti and ultimately how he came to be called Mahatma .Finally u have to say how he was assasinated ( in the arms ofhis two granddaughters) . wikipedia I would go to the library and do some research there on all the topics of Gandhi. I would take the most important information on him and just keep writing. I would say how he fasted and write about all the things he done. Once you start writing it will come to you fast. good luck. You can also rent a movie and watch it . You may want to make and include a timeline of significant events; keep it organized and in a logical order. Sounds interesting! Apart from doing all the above things, take out some time and read "My experiments with truth" ---- M.K. Gandhi I am actually from india, and know sort of the history of this great man. Some points you may want to cover is his peaceful fasting methods to stop fighting, anti vilolence, the british occupying the country and there role and also you can put in some of indira gandhi's efforts to carry on his legacy.
