Can you help me with my Driver's Ed project?

Ok. I can do the math and all but I really don't know WHERE to start. Ok so I'm planning a 'pretend' trip to Orlando, Florida. I will be traveling at 55 mph. I can only drive 8 hours a day and the total distance to get there is about 1,185 miles. The thing is....the car only gets 20 miles for one gallon of gas and the car's tank will hold 20 gallons. So do I multiply 8 x 55 and whatever answer I get do I check the gas thing? Ahhhh that's the part I don't get.

Well, I'd say, figure out how many miles total you can travel on one tank of gas. (20 gallons x 20 miles=400 miles total) Next, figure out how many miles you can travel each day (8x55=440 miles daily).
So, you will have to stop every 400 miles (a little over 7 hours) for gas, and you will be able to travel a little further than that for the day.
