What is a construction project manager? |
what do they do and how much do they get paid? they make sure the entire project is moving-stays on schedule and budget-they prevent and solve problems. specific tasks depend on the nature and size of project and what occurs on any given day. they must be good multi-taskers and know the business. pay is probably pretty good, relatively speaking. They typically work for general contractors and manage construction projects - scheduling of subcontractor work, inspections, budget, billing, interface with government inspectors, interface with the owners/clients, etc. Salary varies greatly with experience and location. Senior managers can earn six-figure salaries. They go to the sites and make sure all is going well according to the specs of the job. ( the actual construction) They oversee all the workers and make sure the job is running smoothly. Depending on where you live they can be paid average is usually about 28 an hour or so. They manage the schedule and the budget to ensure that both are within the plans. There is good opportunity there (along with the stress). |
