Assigned as New Project Manager and have no support when you start?

As you begin your assignment as a project manager, you quickly realise that the corporate sponsor for the project no longer supports the project. What will you do?

Try to make it the best, at least you can put the experience at your resume. Try to get noticed anyway, it doesn't hurt.

You can also make the great jump forward and ask you may purchase the project and run it as a stand alone business (a so called management buy-out).
