Should I quit my job because of my PM's clinical depression?

During the first week of my current contract at my job, my Project Manager told me that he suffered from Clinical Depression, and that he used MADs to handle the situation. At first, I thought little of it, but as time goes by he seems to have become less capable of making rational decisions, and more hostile towards anyone who questions him. I LOVE the company I work for, but I have recently started sending out resumes because I can't think of a polite way to say what I am thinking. We are also a large company with plenty of positions, but I can't imagine him giving a good recommendation, which would be required for a transfer, if I were to tell him that HE is the reason I want to leave this contract. I don't want to be the one to discriminate (especially against an employer), but I honestly don't know how to deal with the situation.

Don't walk until you have a new position......never quit a job.......always give notice..........

You need to be talking to someone above him, not necessarily about a transfer perhaps but about the situation of your job as a whole. There has to be someone above your PM, who can be made aware of the nature of what is going on at work. This can be done in a tactful way that does not disrespect or betray your PM but it should be done.
