More than 2 trillion spent last year on healthcare in U.S. With McCain, won't we save money?

Please read the first 3 lines. Won't we save money with McCain because with Obama's healthcare plan we would be spending much more trying to socialize medicine.

Yes, we will save with McCain on health care. Anytime the fed gov. guarantees (as Obama and Hillary propose) an industry income by nationalizing it , the move always leads to higher costs for the individule with fewer and poorer services. We are currently seeing clinics setting up in Walmarts, Kmarts etc. across the country for treating minor ills such as flue, colds, mumps, chicken pox, cramps, head aches, chest aches etc.
If the docs are unsure they send the patient to the emergency room. The average cost per visit to these clinics is from $35 to $50 depending on the severity. This is awsome as those families who cannot afford regular heath insurace can walk in and get treatment fast and cheap. A regular doctors office for the same visit would charge $125-$175 plus a follow up of about the same... all charged to an insurance group minus any co-pay of $35-$50 .
This clinic business would not be allowed under a mandated national insurance plan. These clinics have alreaady saved many lives by spotting early signs of strokes, heart attacks and cancer.
Also remember. those countries such as Great Brittain, Canada, Germany, France and Switzerland have found the cost unmanagable as the locked in services and payments to doctors is spiraling out of control. G.B and Canada lost huge numbers of docs and other personell and are currently preparing to get rid of their nationalized medicine and hope to bring the medical personell to come back to their countries.

Both healthcare plans are seriously flawed. Obama's is a little better but still promises more than it can deliver. Obama's healthcare plan would not "socialize" medicine which is the only way to lower costs significantly. Take a look at the healthcare plans of any other democracy in Europe...Ask your Doctors and nurses what they think of all the wasted $ and time spent on just collecting payments from insurance companies.

How much actual healthcare could be provided for the 30% of our healthcare dollars that go for billing and profits?

That is why we need better healthcare. A lot of money for hospitals are diminished for treating those who don't have healthcare or those with limited healthcare.

Yes it will cost a large amount in the front in but in the long run the US will end up saving money and making the money back through the efficiency of the system.

These are pipe dreams that will never happen. The congress will never agree on national health. A president can't impose a plan (remember Hillary's attempt during the Bill years?). Its just all a lot of posturing.

Spending on war and health care are not mutually exclusive.

The countries that have socialized medicine spend less on healthcare and get the same medical outcomes.

i am personally for preventative healthcare, but can see that the "only 600 billion spent on the war" could've been better spent here. wouldn't it be good to have a president with the foresight to have prevented such irresponsible spending of lives and money? and look at the loss economically due to the war that was touted to have saved us all that oil? we may not recover in my lifetime from the enormous losses of the last 8 years. can you tell me we don't need change???
