How i could start my own business in textile industry?

For 3 years i worked as R&D manager in worsted industry, i did many technical and business projects , now i want to start my own business with base of technical and business, how can i do? choosing the product and focusing on it is so hard, my degree is MS in texile engineering, any body can guide me?

It is good that, you have decided to start your own business.
First Let me tell you that, Anybody with a knowledge in one subject can go for a job and do well, but to be a business man one need to be an all rounder, which you should learn to become.
Because in business, if you want to be successful, It is not just the product knowledge and its superior features that matter, you need to know a lot more like the product demand, competition, customer satisfaction, pricing, banking and finance, personal management, time management, govt. policies, different types of tax, ESI, PF, Labour Laws, Environmental Issues, Office location, rent, transportation,costing, marketing, merchandising, breakeven sales, and profit or loss bearing capabilities etc., and some more.

All these may look like a long list but they are simple work which needs to be done, to run the business smoothly. You can learn these tricks from the Govt. program called Enterpreneur Ship Development Program( EDP) which they offer freely at a frequent schedule. This program will go for a 7 to 10 days, it helps.

To start any business you must choose the kind of business you want to run. whether you want to start a Manufacturing unit, or a trader. If manufacture then what kind and what is the scale of unit or plant you want to start. Or if trader then whether it is retail business or whole sale business. Also you are dealing with raw material or finished products, you have to decide.

Once you have decided it then, the first step is to search for any such business and talk to them and find out how they have started the business and take guidance from them. Also know about the kind of margin they are earning and be sure to ask all the questions you want to know.

(Remember you should take advise or guidance from a successful person running the business and not from a person who have fialed to run the business properly and suffered losses)

The most important question is, What efforts you should put? and What are thr returns you will get?

Once you are satisfied then you can start Right away.
