I have 2 Gigas of Ram but my CPU is at 100% with nothing else running! What should I do?

Here's the deal: just some 4 days ago I upgraded my RAM to 2GB. That's awesome.
And the computer even worked fine with the puny 512 MB
The thing is that, for a final project I had to install VMWare and Fedora on it to run a specialized program.
All of a sudden, my CPU spiked to 100% even if I wasn't using it, it started to lag and at some point even freeze momentarily...
Freeze with 2GB!

I ran Spyware check, I checked the start up programs and it was all clean with nothing that could make the CPU go mad.
I even uninstalled the Fedora and VMware but - for example- when I go to youtube, the video lags a lot and skips, and when I bring up the manager it shows the 100% again!
What can I do?

Incredibly, the who uses more memory is Firefox, rather than Photoshop or Illustrator.
Firefox is at 102,000 +/-
But, it's normal right?

Go to the place you bought it.

It denotes only the CPU performance and not the RAM usage you can see the RAM usage below it.Your processor speed should be atleast 2GHz and ifnot your computer will be overloaded.If you have 2GHz processor and still have the problem it could be a virus.Or go to run and type "msconfig" and in the startup tab check only needed programs and uncheck those are not needed .You can check whether it is neccessary or not check the address in the command coloumn.

hit CtrlAltDelete, then go to processes, find out which process is using up all of your cpu and tell me by updating your post

that just depends on what ur doing on firefox, but i dont need to know what how much memory its using, im interested in which process is using more cpu, its the column just to the left of memory

i guess try www.crucial.com and use the scanner to see if your ram is compatible with your system, that may be the problem

your system idle process is showing what is not being used by your processor. so if thats high then your cpu isnt doing much. if its firefox, then make sure you dont have to many tabs, or your not running too much like a game on it. it may also be an add-on to firefox thats not working right.
