I'm applying for a job which is looking after commercial project management assistant (construction)?

If you work in this field then could you please give me some good answers as to why you would want to work in commercial, and why? Thanks so much!

There is good and bad to commercial vs residential construction. The good to commercial is that the work is steady. You are less subject to the swings of the market like you are in residential. You also work less off bonus usually. The bad is that it is easier to start your own business in residential. There are also much larger margins of profit. It is difficult to swing from one to the other because the work and approach is so different. I work for a fairly large commercial contractor, and prefer it. It is great to work on a long term project that impacts an entire community. The work is hard and a lot will be expected of you, but usually the compensation is good and there is a lot of room for growth and learning.

I will assume that the position is in an office, not out in the field. This person could contact subcontractors, request and receive project bids, field phone calls, track different items for the jobs. Anything related to the job or the project manager is what you would be in charge of. Good luck, it's an interesting business. You will learn a lot.
