What is the best way to get database implementation experience? |
I currently work for a large insurance firm as a business analyst. I want to get into consulting, particularly with Oracle or SAP implementation. I went back for my MBA (UF 鈥?Dec 07) but since it was company sponsored they wouldn't set me up with any recruiters. My work now involves systems maintenance to our PeopleSoft general ledger. I want to get more experience gathering requirements and implementing new databases for customers. What's the best way to gain experience doing this? I see 6-18 week projects posted on Dice.com sometimes, but I'm afraid of leaving my job for one of these and not being able to find another job after. Any advice??? Try freelancing and setting your own hours. |
