Is it possible to move a motherboard to a new case? |
I have the HP Pavillion a6228x (http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/hp-pavi... It's an OK little rig, but it wasn't meant for gaming at all; I don't really have the money right now to buy a new computer, save for a few much needed parts (a better power supply, another hard drive, etc.) Yes, it's fairly simple. You just open up the case, take everything off the motherboard, remembering what cables went where. (perhaps write it down or draw a simple diagram for stuff you might forget) Then you simply unscrew all the screws, some will be in the middle. Once the screws are off, it should just come off, no pulling at all. (unless there are clips) Yes you can. Like power supply that are all different dimensions they all have the same screw holes in the same place. Every tower has a place that you put the powersupply with those pre drilled holes. The answer is yes of course. The new case must be the same form factor as the motherboard for the a6228x. |
