Med School ADMISSIONS? |
Can I get into a good med school like UCSF, Stanford, or Harvard if i go to a CSU for two years and transfer to a Good UC like berkeley to get my degree? (currently a highschool student) UC acceptance rates for other four-year college transfers are generally half of the acceptance rates for community college transfers, so you have a much better chance transferring from a community college. But you should apply to the UCs as a freshman and find out which campuses accept you and what kind of financial packages you get. Worse case scenario: you don't get accepted, then you can attend a community college and try again in two years. Best case scenario: you are accepted into Berkeley with a great financial aid package and spends four great years at a world-renowned institution getting the best education available. I just got into cal poly pomona.... i'm still waiting for more admissions letters... but do you think its better to stay at university for 4 years even if it is a state university? or should i transfer... after 2 years? Report It what would look better - good grades at state or average/above average grades at uc? Report It You can contact me thru Yahoo Answers, just click on my user name and use the email link. Report It It is rather difficult to transfer from a four-year college to a UC, but not impossible. However, you have to consider how many of your courses will be transferable and whether you will need to retake courses. Report It If you don't get into any of the UCs you want to attend, you can: 1) appeal the decision, 2) take a gap year to do something worthwhile and apply again next year, 3) attend one of your backup schools, or 4) attend a community college and apply for transfer in two years. Report It I generally recommend students to attend the best school available for undergraduate study because just in case you change your mind (I know you don't think you will, but most people eventually do), you are better off with a degree from a reputable school. Report It My cousin went to SBCC for two years and maintained at 4.0 gpa. She then was able to transfer into Stanford so the answer to your question is that it is possible. no but why |
