How to put videos to your memory stick using the NEW PSP Slim and Lite?

Hi I just got my new PSP Slim and Lite with 4gb memory stick but the problem is I could not view the videos I transferred through USB connection.
I read some articles on how to do it and have tried making MP_ROOT with subfolder 100MNV01/MNV100 or even tried
making PSP folder with subfolder Video but still the .avi that I transferred doesn't work.
I'm not sure if the reason why it isn't working is because of the format type of the file. Maybe PSP can't read .avi and it should be converted to the right format. I just don't know what format is should be converted into..so anyone please? I need help>.<

But if you want put the video on your PSP, make sure the video formats are UMD and MPEG-4,because the psp only support the two video formats.
If the answer is yes,just use the psp software,then you can transfer them to your psp easily.
if the answer is no, you need a psp video convert software to help you.You can search such software on http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com

How To Put Videos On PSP Step 1
You need a good memory stick, depending what type of length of video you want to watch. I encourage you to get a 512MB memmory stick.

How To Put Videos On PSP Step 2
Connect your PSP to your computer, via USB cable. Make sure your PSP is turned off when you do this.

How To Put Videos On PSP Step 3
Turn on your PSP, and go to the Settings Menu. In this menu select USB Connection and press X. Your computer should now detect your psp as an extra "removable drive". Your computer will assign a letter to this drive. Let's call it X:\ for future reference.

How To Put Videos On PSP Step 4
Go to this removable drive with your Windows Explorer. There is a folder called PSP there. Create a new folder called MP_ROOT at this level if it is not already created. (So you will have X:\MP_ROOT).
NOTE: DO NOT ERASE THE OTHER FOLDERS UNDER X:\PSP\ THEY SHOULD BE CALLED GAMES, MUSIC, SAVEDDATA AND PHOTO OR THE PSP FOLDER

In the MP_ROOT folder we just created (X:\MP_ROOT\), create a folder named 100MNV01 if it is not already present. You will get X:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01.

Copy the mp4 files to the folder we just created on the memory stick (X:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01\)

Go on your PSP. Go to Video. Select Memory Stick.

You are correct in your assumption. The psp will only play certain video formats.

The site has tutorial and fairly simple to use. Also, if you don't have any game saves/pics/etc already on the memory card, I would format it using the PSP, it should automatically create the necessary directories for you.
