What is this bump I have above my tragus piercing?!? |
4 weeks ago i got my tragus pierced...this past saturday I noticed a purpleish small bump on the top part of the front hole. I paniced and went to see my piercer and he told me i had a small keloid and to wash with a sea salt solution and it will get smaller. My knowledge of keloids is that they dont get smaller so was he telling me i had some hypertrophic scarring? Its been less than a week and i've been making my solution and then gave up and went and bought h2ocean whichmy piercer said would help a lot. All my friends say im freaking out about nothing and it looks fine..but here are a few links to pictures of my bump *blurry* but its something! The piercer said i must have snagged it on something...i did pull the ring upwards while cleaning cause i thought that was a good idea...so i am hoping that is the case... It is not a keliod, its hypertrophic scarring. I also had this on the surface of my tragus piercing and also underneath and on top of my nose piercing a few times. Usually the fade away in time, just apply warm sea salt water on it atleast 2-3 a day, you can also use the H2Ocean spray on it since this can help the healing also. You can also apply tea tree oil atleast once a day. Tea tree oil are sold at your local pharmacy, don't apply to much, the area might become dry but this is normal with tea tree oil. Good Luck. I had the same thing under my nose ring, all I had to do was leave it alone and not mess with it, but if that doesn't help visit a doctor. It might not be anything to worry about,but the doctor may have some other ideas about how to get rid or it. It looks like a keloid to me. I have that on the back of my cartlidge pericings and I have one on my arm as well from something else. Just leave it be, they do sometimes shrink on their own. I also had one on my nose ring, and mine also went away on its own after I stopped messing with it. to the doctor!! |
