Stuck on what to write in my job application?

the personal spec on the application says desirable experience of transport managment,operational experience of developing innovatory transport solutions.It's a job I really want and this is the only part I am stuck on.I haven't worked in this field myself I have a certain ammount of knowledge as my husband as been a HGV driver for 23 years, but I have nothing written.Any ideas on how I can get round this?

Be honest and state even though you have no direct experience in this area you can draw upon other areas of your life and your knowledge base. Then go on to describe what knowledge you have directly related to this. Draw on the skills you have developed in your past career that might help, such as time management etc.. For example whilst working in the x field I had to work to deadlines and achieve company objectives and targets. To do this I had to prioritise my workload, set time scales and maintain my motivation to keep to deadlines. These time management skills I would be able to transfer to the role of (job you are applying for). Even if you have not worked before you can even use managing a household/having children. The CV is required to prove your experience in response to the job specification. If you do not have the necessary experience then you should not apply for it will be time wasting for both yourself and the company to whom you are making the application. If you lie in any way your lack of experience will be detected during the interview.

Not really....the job application is used to sift out those with or without experience....and it is a specific question.....you could write something like ' Whilst I have no direct experience in this field, it is an area in which I have a great deal of interest, and with suitable training I am confident that I would be able to bring innovative ideas to the problems.'
or something on those lines.....

well its says these skills are desirable, not essential - I would suggest you swap the 'trasport' part of it to something relating to your current job.

Then do it as your exeperience in (project?) management and developing innovative (project?) solutions - and give examples of these.

Sorry, I'm afraid you don't seem to be qualified. Sleeping with a lorry driver isn't a qualification in itself, although of course it does display loyalty and tenacity.
