How are you helping Answers to maintain its purpose?

As most of you already know, Yahoo! Answers is a Community of people sharing knowledge. It's an online Community where you can share your knowledge and receive knowledge from those who know it.

My question is: How does your participation help Answers maintain its purpose?

Currently I answer questions in the Yahoo! Answers category. Here, multitudes of users everyday ask questions about how to run their account on this site whether it's choosing a best answer to how to put up a picture as their avatar. It's our duty to help these users with their questions to the best of our ability, or to atleast give them suggestions on what their next step should be in order to achieve a solution to their problem. I answer people's questions with as much honesty as possible and as much detail as is necessary. It doesn't matter how difficult or tiresome the question is to answer -- that doesn't stop me from trying to give the best response that I could possibly give. I dedicate myself a few minutes a day to answer a few questions and possibly make someone's day, or atleast brighten up a user's experience on this site and make it pleasant.

Dad, I just wanted to say that you along with many other great users on this site and particularly in the Yahoo! Answers category are the people that make this site the amazing online community that it currently is. I have seen your answers to questions and I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you have done for this site and the users on it -- you are so dedicated and enriching. THANK YOU so much!

I believe that my participation in the Yahoo Answers project helps to maintain its purpose because every question that I ask, I put all the thought that I can into the question, and every answer that I give, I try to give as much helpful information as I can to as many different people as I can, so that I can help maintain Y!A's focus of getting questions that need answers answered so that the people that have questions gets help in as quick and efficient of a way as I possibly can do it.

Hope this helps you understand where I am coming from!

Well... especially in my favorite categories (of which I happen to be Top Contributors in), I try to share my knowlege, experience, and advice for those who seek it.

In the R&S section, in particular, I never... NEVER... attempt to convert people. I am there to explain and clarify Christian theology, doctrine, etc. and not to convert people. I know I get a lot of thumbs DOWN, even when I am explaining what God is, say... because there are always those who don't understand that I am EXPLAINING, and not PREACHING.

But, I wouldn't have those "TC" titles if I wasn't sharing with the "community." I don't take the "TC" designation lightly. I love the Y!A forum, and wish to contribute to it's success and growth.

Have a YAHOO Day!

Answers gives me the opportunity to pass on years of wisdom to questions I would never be asked when I have a life.
From time to time I see breaches of the guidelines that makes my blood boil, racism and hatred.
Then there are those reporters who will troll back through your old questions, reporting the ones that they perceive as chatting.
You know the problem I had and the help you lent.

I have not been on Y!A for months now!(not regular anymore)

But when i come here i try to follow as far as i can the "RULES" and "REGULATIONS". And the most important thing is that i never reply to questions that i don't know and for those who i know(hopefully) the answers i try to keep it as clearer as possible with the minimal grammatical errors or mis-spelling!!(English is not my primary language!!)

I try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge lately I've been really trying to answer questions with intelligent answers. I don't think asking am I pretty is a way to maintain yahoo answers purpose.

I try to give people useful information, even if it's as simple as seeing a doctor, if they seem to be in physical or mental distress...I'm not a doctor, but I can sense if someone needs to speak to one.

You get back whatever you put in, maintaining a constant flow of new and helpful information.

I tell people not to waste to much time on this site because they will be deleted at some point for no reason (most likely).
