Why does Y!A, who prides themselves on knowledge sharing, allow certain # of answers per day?

I think half the people don't really know what they are talking about when it comes to health questions, technical questions, mechanical questions and stuff like that. Other people keep posting nonsense whether it is stupid questions or polls, or irrelevant crap that just doesn't belong. But for the rest of us who really are trying to help other people, I don't think it's fair. Or the survey/poll questions shouldn't count as an "answers" unless you are getting reported for an infraction.

One of the main reasons for restrictions on lower levels is to prevent SPAM. Ever once in a while spambots slip through and I'm sure you can imagine what happens if they were allowed to post as many of their "answers" as they want! Because of the restrictions they are usually reported and caught before they can do too much damage.

Another reason: quite a few users don't familiarise themselves with the neccassary rules and regulations befor they start participating. To prevent them from violating too many rules and enable them to learn the ropes, restrictions are neccassary for the first couple of days also.

Please read all of the above and then watch questions and answers of other users to find out how the system works. Welcome btw...:-)
