Debt Management?

I have been getting phone calls from a debt management firm for over 4 years now asking for some bloke called Mr. Clay who i've never heard of and to my knowledge has never lived here. Each time we ask for our number to be removed from their database but the calls continue so my question is 'do i have a case for harrassment?'

Good question. The next time they call (and from the sound of it, there will definitely be a next time), ask for a supervisor before they even have a chance to finish speaking. When the supervisor comes on, tell them that you have instructed them to remove your name/number from their call list several times, and that if it does not happen this time and you receive another call from them, they will be hearing from your lawyer. Then if it still happens, I'd say definitely seek a lawyers help to make it stop.

Ask for an address to send the payment. Send a CERTIFIED letter formally stating you are not Mr Clay and any further calls will be considered prank calls. Also state that prank calls are treated to an air horn of the type used at sporting events. If they call again, use the air horn. Report It

If your sure its not your debt then Federal law prohibits them in any attempt to collect that money. If its not your debt then just hang up, or tell them you are going to get a lawyer and own their company if they continue to try and collect this bogus debt.

If you are sure that it is not you who is having any debt management done but still these people are troubling you, then just go ahead and file the case.

Call the better business bureau for info.
