What kind of business would anyone suggest that I could get involved with?

I am living in Brazil and am fed up of working to someone else and I would like to open a small business. I know that I must know of the business I will get involved with, but would like to have some ideas of some kind of services and goods that would probably work out over here, what for instance would you do in Italy? I have thought of an internet shop or maybe a coffee shop, or a small grocery shop, but it must be something that will really work; Please help.

I think if you have never had a business before, then you should look into home based businesses. They're cheaper to start up and maintain. You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business but less of a risk factor of loosing a lot of money.

Something that makes good money for least effort. That may sound obvious but it's true. The best industry is money (banks, investment etc.) the worst possibly retail or manufacturing (engineering)

Cater to the rich. No matter what the economy does they will always be rich. How about a funeral home...people will always die, or a bar as there will always be drinkers. To many coffee shops...

something that really interests you is a big help in putting up your own business.
